Trading a Backyard for a Back Deck on the Sea – Home on a Lagoon – Bob and Margret

Trading a Backyard for a Back Deck on the Sea – Home on a Lagoon – Bob and Margret

After packing up their Brisbane home, Bob and Margaret Kennedy set sail in search of a more adventurous lifestyle. Life aboard their Lagoon 420 Casablanca has given them comfort, freedom, and a community of like-minded cruisers.
“We’ve had Casablanca for six years and we wouldn’t swap her for anything else. Our last boat felt like camping, but the Lagoon feels like home.
There’s space for the whole family, it’s easy to sail as a couple, and everything is just smartly laid out. From solar power and a washing machine to a safe, open cockpit for the grandkids, she ticks every box.
This lifestyle wasn’t planned, one day Bob just said, ‘Let’s buy a boat,’ and now here we are, thousands of miles later, with no regrets. Lagoon gave us the confidence to go anywhere, and the comfort to truly enjoy it.”

The Sabella adventure begins – Lagoon handling with confidence – Lara and Aaron

The Sabella adventure begins – Lagoon handling with confidence – Lara and Aaron

After weathering winter in Les Sables, Aaron, Lara, and their two daughters began the journey south toward Lisbon. With support from TMG and a delivery skipper onboard, they put Sabella through her first serious ocean test, and came out stronger, more skilled, and inspired.
“Our Lagoon 42 handled the Bay of Biscay far better than expected. We set off in cold, windy conditions and motored straight into 20 hours of waves and headwinds, she didn’t skip a beat.
The real highlight was her downwind performance. With the Code 0 up, we were making half wind speed in light conditions, which I didn’t think was even possible in a cruising cat. Sabella just felt incredibly stable and capable throughout.
There were so many unforgettable moments, sunsets, dolphins, peaceful night watches, but most of all, we kept saying how lucky we felt to be experiencing it all from our own floating home. This boat has given us a new way of living.”

Why He Keeps Coming Back to Lagoon – Is this the best Lagoon 450 ever? – John and Mariet

Why He Keeps Coming Back to Lagoon – Is this the best Lagoon 450 ever? – John and Mariet

John and Mariet are no strangers to the Lagoon community. With three Lagoons under their belt and decades of sailing experience, they’ve developed a deep appreciation for what sets these catamarans apart. Their latest love, Themis, a meticulously upgraded Lagoon 450F is a standout not just for its condition but for the thought and care John has poured into every detail.
“Themis looks brand new, I’m very particular. From the 2.4KW of solar to the lithium battery bank, we’ve never needed shore power. We’ve added a code 0 with continuous furling, an electric outboard on a lightweight dinghy, a watermaker, and a custom hardtop you can walk on. Everything is designed for real liveaboard comfort and off-grid freedom.
Lagoon boats are properly built for cruising, strong, smart, and easy to sail short-handed. I’ve owned other cats, but I keep coming back to Lagoon because they simply get better every time. For comfort, reliability, and thoughtful design, nothing else compares.”

A Dream Delivered – Taking Delivery in France with TMG Yachts – Lara and Aaron

A Dream Delivered – Taking Delivery in France with TMG Yachts – Lara and Aaron

For the Jones family, picking up their brand-new yacht in Les Sables-d’Olonne marked the beginning of a long-dreamed-of adventure. Thanks to TMG Yachts, what could have been a daunting overseas handover became a joyful, seamless experience that exceeded all expectations.
“From the moment we arrived in France, the experience felt curated and considered. The boat exceeded all expectations, not just the pristine condition and that magical new boat smell, but the warmth of the welcome, the attention to detail, and the sheer effort TMG had gone to on our behalf. TMG Yachts had worked closely with commissioning agent Sailing Atlantic Services to ensure Sabella was turnkey ready. Even the third-party tender was delivered, inflated, and installed without a single request from the owners.
John Cowpe kindly came over from Sydney to do the handover. We cannot express the amount of gratitude we feel towards this gentleman and his company, which has taken a complex and potentially traumatic process and turned it into something of deep joy for our family. All the little extra details and thought… the help from SAS and the rest of the commissioning team… I’m speechless. Lara and I are just over the moon with how we’ve been treated here. It made me feel really special and really lucky to be able to experience something like this. Every little detail was thought of.”

These owners love their Lagoon for more R&R – Paul and Kathy

Paul Rogers and his partner Kathy lived full-time aboard their Lagoon 450, Moor R&R, cruising Australia’s east coast with their three cats and a growing community of fellow Lagoon owners.
“Our Lagoon is supremely comfortable, we don’t even think of it as a boat, it’s home. The best thing about this lifestyle isn’t just the freedom or the view out the back door, it’s the people. There’s a whole community of Lagoon owners, and through the Lagoon events we’ve made stronger connections than we had living in one place for 40 years. When somewhere isn’t fun, we just move on. That’s the beauty of it.”

From Monohulls to Effortless Catamaran Cruising – They couldn’t resist the Lagoon 39 – Graeme and Linda

Graeme and Linda Hubbard weren’t planning to buy a boat, but when they stepped aboard the Lagoon 39, they were instantly sold. With its apartment-style layout, sweeping views, and easy handling, Zephyr offered everything they were looking for in a cruising catamaran.
“As soon as we got onboard, we were sold, the sliding doors, the 360-degree view, and that big window by the kitchen sink made it feel like an apartment. The layout just works. There’s so much storage, the cabins are spacious, and the galley being up top makes a huge difference.
For our age, it’s the perfect boat. It’s easy to walk around, stable, and simple to sail, the electric winch is a dream. We’ve always had fun on boats but this is the easiest, most comfortable one yet. And the handover from Ross at TMG was fabulous, he went through everything in detail, which we’ve never had before.
This isn’t hard work. It’s easy and cruisey. We’ll see more people, share more laughs, and drink more bubbly aboard Zephyr, that’s what it’s all about.”

From Land to Lagoon: Why they traded a caravan for a 50ft Lagoon – Darren and Kristy

From Land to Lagoon: Why they traded a caravan for a 50ft Lagoon – Darren and Kristy

When caravanning didn’t quite fit the bill, Darren and Kristy Waters made a bold move, they sold up and bought a Lagoon 500. With three kids in tow and minimal sailing experience, they’ve embraced a new kind of freedom aboard Pacific High, their floating home designed for long-term adventure.
“We looked at smaller catamarans at first, but as soon as we stepped aboard the Lagoon 500, we knew it was the one. The layout is perfect for family life, there’s space for everyone to retreat to their own room, a galley upstairs where I can keep my kitchen gear, and the open living area makes it feel more like a home than a boat.
We wanted the kids to grow up in nature, not stuck to a routine, and Pacific High gives us that. We can anchor in beautiful places, let them kayak to the beach, snorkel, explore. We’re more present, more connected, and less distracted.
Honestly, it’s not as hard as people think. Our Lagoon is incredibly user-friendly, and the community you meet out here is amazing. If anyone is thinking of doing the same… just do it.”

Paradise Found: A New Chapter Begins on the Lagoon 52F – John and Tania

When John and Tania Notaras took delivery of their brand-new Lagoon 52F Paradise, it marked a bold step into a new chapter of boating. Having only owned smaller fishing boats, this was their first serious leap into life aboard a luxury cruising catamaran. What drew them in? The comfort, space, and the ability to entertain 12 people while still being easy to manage short-handed.
“The Lagoon 52F gave us the space we wanted without sacrificing ease of use. TMG Yachts were always available and did everything they could for us, it’s been a very supportive process. We’re still learning, but we already know we made the right choice. This boat is our own little escape – our Paradise.”

Lagoon 42 modified for quadriplegic sailor – Cliff Clark

Lagoon 42 modified for quadriplegic sailor – Cliff Clark

After a life-changing accident left him a quadriplegic, former Paralympian Clifford Clark didn’t slow down, instead, he set his sights on the sea. Starting with Sailability in Cairns and now proudly helming a custom-modified Lagoon 42, Cliff has transformed what was once a dream into an extraordinary reality.
With support from TMG Yachts, Cliff tailored the Lagoon 42 to suit his needs, making it one of the only 42-footers that could accommodate a wheelchair across the entire deck, down each side, and into the saloon. From fitted lifts to electric winches and accessible rigging, every detail of the boat has been adjusted to empower his independence on the water.
“The 42 was the only catamaran that had enough space for me to wheel around the entire deck and through the galley. Being out on the water gives me access to places I’ve never seen before. It’s total freedom. I can’t wait to cruise the Whitsundays with my family, then sail up to Cairns and reunite with my Sailability mates. This boat has changed my life.”
