European Handover Process with TMG Yachts – Lagoon 51 Owner – Tony
Spring has sprung in France, and the busiest-ever year of launches for TMG Yachts has begun. Rolling off the production line and being prepared for their new owners are a vast array of models across the entire range. Many 40s, 42s and 46s are coming out of the Vendee factories as well as a 55, another 65 and a 77 soon to launch from Bordeaux. We still have one final opportunity for the late June ’23 delivery of a stunning Lagoon 46, but be quick – she won’t last!
Kicking off the European delivery season, Joe travelled to France for the first of many Lagoon 51 handovers.

“As with any new boat handover, it is an exciting time both for the owner and TMG Yachts and, being the first of a new model, only adds to the anticipation. The Lagoon 51 is a stunning boat with a number of design features that have already been well-received by the cruising world, winning the model a number of acclaimed awards already.”
Two intensive days of familiarisation and training involving manoeuvring, sailing and vessel management gave me an appreciation for the innovative yet simple operation of a catamaran of this size. The Lagoon 51’s sailing ability completely blew me away, in light winds with the Code Zero the boat was fast and responsive and a joy to sail.” explained Joe.
Tony joined us at La Grande Motte Multihull Show for the premiere of the Lagoon 51 in 2022. One year on and he is off on his great adventure. Since the handover, Tony has sailed into the Mediterranean where he will spend the summer season exploring what Europe has to offer.
“Thank you, TMG, for all the wonderful support throughout this journey of mine. Thanks to Joe, thanks to John I’m very happy with the service and delivery, it’s all been magnificent,” said Tony.

While Joe was in France he was able to attend the Lagoon Exclusive Days in Bordeaux.
“The Lagoon factory in Bordeaux opened its doors to clients and dealers from around the world, allowing exclusive access to the yard, build, production, commissioning and launch process. Clients were given the opportunity to meet the Lagoon factory team behind this winning catamaran brand. Lagoon models 51-77 were also on display in all their glory for private viewings away from the business of an international boat show. It was an event I would recommend to anyone with an interest in catamarans and the Lagoon brand.”
