Seeking a Shipwright

We are looking to add an outstanding Shipwright to our excellent team based at Quays Marina on Pittwater. In this fast-paced, dynamic and friendly team, your role will involve working with some of Europe’s most exciting new catamarans, sailing yachts and power boats.

Position Summary 

You will be responsible for carrying out general shipwright duties, warranty repairs and modifications as required. You will also assist with commissioning process as requested by co-ordinators, provide expert technical advice to VesselTec’s coordination staff and interstate trades, agents and contractors.

During the commissioning process within NSW your role will also consist of the final pre-handover QC checks and hands-on rectification of any minor defects. You will also be required to travel interstate on occasion to assist with the commissioning process of interstate vessels.

You will also be identifying, diagnosing and hands-on troubleshooting of minor warranty issues on vessels across Pittwater and Sydney as directed by co-ordination staff.

Efficient and routine use of the internal job management system (WFM), logging recurrent issues for the updating of commissioning checklists and providing clear and concise summaries (with accompanying photos) to enable effective processing of warranty claims is an important element of the position.

The Role

As a VesselTec Service & Support Coordinator your areas of responsibility will include:

  • General shipwright duties and warranty repairs
  • Provide technical advice to staff & interstate trades
  • Pre-handover QC checks, modifications and repairs
  • Diagnosis and hands-on trouble-shooting of warranty issues as directed
  • Logging of hours & updating internal job management systems
  • Interstate travel as required to assist with commissioning works
  • Boat Show duties on occasion

40hr week 5 days

4 Weeks Annual Leave plus Superannuation and Sick Leave as per statutory requirements
