Introducing Rowan McMahon – TMG Yachts new QLD Manager
With an extensive marine background, Rowan McMahon has spent his career dealing with all aspects of boat ownership. From choosing the right boat, as owner’s representative during the build process, to managing after sales service and maintaining vessels to an impeccable standard, Rowan has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the marine industry.
With a passion for cruising the Queensland coast, especially the Whitsundays, Rowan is a perfect fit for his recent appointment as TMG Yachts and Eyachts Queensland Branch Manager.
Rowan’s passion for the marine industry started young, when, as a 14 year old he started working for Sydney’s Middle Harbour Yacht Club as a tender driver.
As Rowan’s keen interest for boats developed he travelled to the United States in 2003 where he quickly secured a position on board a 50 meter superyacht travelling seasonally between the Caribbean and Mediterranean.
Rowan gained valuable sea time and soon completed his Master of Yachts 200ton qualification. An opportunity to manage and Captain a family owned motor yacht saw Rowan take up residence on the Mediterranean. He eventually returned to the USA where he had the pleasure of running various private and commercial superyachts ranging from 70’ to 120’ around the USA, Bahamas and Caribbean.
Keen to return to Australia with his family, in 2011 he relocated to Hamilton Island after securing the Captain’s role of a new luxury commercial operated 78’ Lazzara which operated in the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef.
Now based on Queensland’s Gold Coast, Rowan has spent his career in, on and around boats, building extensive skills, knowledge and experience. We warmly welcome Rowan McMahon to the Queensland team and invite you to make contact with him to talk boats!
