Lagoon World Escapade, Australia: Celebrating 40 Years of Lagoon Catamarans
20 Boats, 62 Participants, and Endless Fun
The annual Lagoon Escapade looked a little different this year for several reasons, marking a significant milestone—Lagoon Catamarans’ 40th Anniversary. This grand celebration unfolded globally over the same weekend, featuring 25 events around the world. Among them, the Australian event stood as our biggest ever, with 20 boats and 62 enthusiastic participants gathering to celebrate, connect, and enjoy a fantastic time.
For the first time, TMG Yachts hosted the event at the stunning Tangalooma Island off the Brisbane coast—a tropical paradise that added a unique charm to the celebration.
Our heartfelt thanks go to our incredible sponsors: Mitch Cap, our go-to finance provider; Yoti, our brokerage partner; and Northside Marine, who provided the Highfield tender for the event. We also extend our gratitude to our partners for the amazing prizes: Jobe Watersports Australia, Rocna Anchors Australia, Rollytasker Sails Australia, Marine Trade Supplies, The Boat Works, and Seaspray with Dulon and Deckmate.

DAY 1
Despite the drizzly weather typical of tropical Queensland, the spirits were high as John, Joe, and Marnie delivered goodies by Highfield tender—getting extremely wet but delighted to meet every owner with smiling faces. The official festivities began with sundowners on the resort’s highest balcony, offering breathtaking views of the 20 Lagoons at the event. As the sun set, Lagoon passports were stamped, and Blue Lagoon cocktails were enjoyed, fostering connections among the owners.
The evening event was a spectacular affair in a beautifully decorated room, reflecting Lagoon’s theme of white and turquoise. After a warm welcome from Joe and John, a delicious banquet was served, followed by a lively trivia session. The evening’s highlight was a dance-off resulting from a trivia tie, where 8 people from 1 boat won an array of Lagoon goodies. Thanks to our bar sponsor, Yoti, the beverages flowed freely, making the evening unforgettable.

DAY 2
The morning began with breakfast delivered by “floating concierge” AKA Highfield Tender, along with more goodies, bringing smiles to the faces of owners in their new turquoise shirts. Anchors were raised and under Joe Fox’s direction, the Lagoons formed a meticulous circle before breaking out to hoist sails and start the rally. With a perfect breeze, the Lagoons looked stunning as they sailed gracefully.
Back on shore, a delicious lunch courtesy of Mitch Cap awaited, followed by beach games. The classic Aussie favourite, flags, was played with a twist, and a Kookaburra toss added to the fun. As the sun set, everyone reflected on the incredible two days, concluding with an official sparkler send-off.

DAY 3
Despite the unfavourable wind turning to the southwest, the unofficial event continued with a la carte activities, including snorkeling, beach walks, and quad biking—ending the weekend on a high note.

Thank you to the amazing Lagoon owners for being part of this incredible community, and a huge thank you to our sponsors—we couldn’t have done it without you!
