How Does the Lagoon 43 Differ from the Lagoon 42?

First things first, let’s address the burning question: how does the Lagoon 43 differ from the beloved Lagoon 42? According to Quentin Beraut, Lagoon’s Product Manager, the Lagoon 43 isn’t just a mere replacement; it’s a leap forward in design and functionality, “we defined what we needed based on the customer needs,  feedback of the market and from our network”.

While maintaining the essence of what made the Lagoon 42 great, the Lagoon 43 introduces a host of new features and improvements that elevate the sailing experience to new heights, “it’s building a new product in the range of the 42 but introducing more feature, features that we needed on the 42”, explained Beraut.

Key Features of the Lagoon 43

One of the key highlights of the Lagoon 43 is its emphasis on ease of movement, adaptability, and generous space.

Ease of movement – The Lagoon 43 boasts a side access door for seamless mobility from the dock. The cockpit, inside to outside transition, is further enhanced from previous models with a recessed saloon door that hides away entirely.

Adaptability – The Lagoon 43 features a convertible in-and-out table solution, allowing you to move furniture based on your preferences. Another key feature is the new lounging area, with multifunctional backrests that allow owners and guests to see into the cockpit or out to sea.

Generous space – The expanded size of the hulls has increased the internal cabin space by four times. This has led the designers to move the master berth forward and the bathroom aft, allowing for quieter sleeps while underway and separating the shower and head. Additionally, Lagoon has introduced the semi-fly to the coachroof of Lagoon 43, creating a new space for socialising.

Whether you’re lounging on deck or navigating the open seas, the Lagoon 43 offers a truly immersive and enjoyable sailing experience.

              Discussing the New Rig Layout

One of the most notable changes in the Lagoon 43 is the introduction of a forward mast configuration—a rig layout that has been previously featured in Lagoon’s larger models, such as the Lagoon 51 and 60. This strategic shift maximizes saloon space with increased space and improved maneuverability, the new rig layout adds a fresh dimension to the Lagoon 43’s already impressive repertoire. Beraut also revealed exclusive insights into the future of the Lagoon 43, “we can expect to see the new furling boom system implemented on the Lagoon 43 also.”

Amidst the array of impressive features on the Lagoon 43, there’s one standout feature that captures the imagination: the aft cockpit with folding backrests. As Quentin Beraut enthusiastically describes, “this innovative design allows sailors to enjoy breathtaking ocean views while lounging in unparalleled comfort”. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, soak in the surroundings, and create lasting memories on the open seas.
