What Makes the Lagoon 46 Exceptional?

Phil and Louise both agree: the Lagoon 46 offers unmatched comfort and space. For Phil, the helm area is a standout feature. “We can put the whole family up there anytime we’re travelling, and the general space is fantastic,” he says. Louise echoes the sentiment, adding, “My favourite thing about the Lagoon 46 is taking the grandkids out, whale watching, and spending family time onboard.”

Creature Comforts Like No Other

Life onboard the Lagoon 46 is anything but basic. Equipped with a cutting-edge electrical system, efficient solar panels, and a reliable water maker, it ensures no compromise on comfort. “Sleeping in a queen-size bed and taking showers without limits—it’s the little luxuries that make it so enjoyable,” says Phil.

Why Choose a Lagoon 46?

Phil and Louise initially considered an older Lagoon 450 but after comparing them side by side they quickly saw the advantages of upgrading to the 46. “The difference between a new boat and an older one is significant. With the 46, most of the stress is gone, especially when you’re far offshore or away from home,” says Phil. It’s a choice they’re glad they made.

Sharing the Lagoon 46 Experience

Phil and Louise love showcasing their boat to people considering buying a catamaran, a number of friends have already bought Lagoons on their recommendation. “Our passion for the Lagoon shows when we take people out and share what we love about it,” she says. Phil adds, “I’m proud to show off the 46—it’s our favourite model and easy to talk about.”

Unforgettable Adventures

From the Whitsundays to Lady Musgrave Island, the Lagoon 46 has been their gateway to incredible experiences. Phil fondly recalls a night on Middle Percy Island: “We had goat stew around the campfire with the Lagoon 46 out front—it was sensational.” Louise, on the other hand, cherishes local outings like whale watching and relaxing with family at Tipplers.

A Look Back on Their Adventures

Since the Escapade, Phil and Louise headed to the Whitsundays for three months with a group of friends, enjoying a relaxed and leisurely pace. They cruised up to Yeppoon, “No time frames, no stress—taking a day or a week wherever we felt like,” said Phil. “It was fantastic, we loved every minute.”

More recently, they spent five days at Tangalooma, taking their grandkids diving around the wrecks. “We were pinching ourselves,” Louise said, reflecting on the incredible experience.

The Best Kept Lagoon 46 For Sale

For Phil, the Lagoon 46 has been more than just a passion. He has dedicated 100 hours a week, seven days a week to maintaining the boat, with the goal of making it the best pre-loved Lagoon 46 available.

“I had a mechanic looking at the engine who couldn’t believe how clean it was. I polish under the engines monthly. Every week, I start my Monday cleaning the boat,” he shared proudly.

It’s this unparalleled dedication that has left the boat in new condition. As they prepare to reluctantly sell, Phil summarises: “It is an awesome boat, we can’t fault it, and it will be sad to see it go.”

Final Thoughts

For Phil and Louise this is not the end of the journey, Phil said, “We love TMG and would love to stay within the family and hopefully we will be at the next Escapade.”

Why The Lagoon 43 is the Best Catamaran for Liveaboard Cruising – Long

Long, a first-time catamaran owner, spent years researching before choosing the Lagoon 43 for his global sailing adventure starting in France.
“It has fully met my expectations. The size is just right for me, spacious but manageable, and very livable. After two months and over 2,000 nautical miles of sailing, I’ve been very happy with its performance. The interior layout, saloon design, semi flybridge, and included configurations perfectly suit my family’s lifestyle and the way we entertain friends on board.
If what you really want is a valuable, challenging, and rewarding life experience, then absolutely go for it. This kind of journey is absolutely worth it.”

Lagoon Catamaran Charter Boat Investment Journey – Mike

Lagoon Catamaran Charter Boat Investment Journey – Mike

Six years after purchasing a Lagoon 40 for charter in the Whitsundays, Mike reflects on the decision that exceeded expectations.
“We approached the charter boat investment with a business mindset. We modelled everything conservatively, and honestly, it’s performed better than expected. Even through COVID, we averaged around 165 charter nights a year, and the boat held its value far better than we’d anticipated.
The Lagoon 40 hit the sweet spot, it’s the perfect size for the Whitsundays market. Less intimidating for first-timers, and a strong performer in bookings.
The boat was delivered basically ready to charter.
After six years, I’d absolutely do it all again. It’s been a positive experience from start to finish, and if we go again I’d be looking at the Lagoon 43.”

After 2 seasons of sailing the Med on their Lagoon 46 Mike and Linda shared what they love most, “The Lagoon 46 has given us a whole new level of freedom and comfort. I love the Code Zero sail for light wind performance, and Linda’s favourite spot is the flybridge, it’s where everyone gathers when we’re sailing. With a watermaker and generator on board, we’ve been able to explore more remote places and stay cool during the heatwaves in Greece. It’s made the whole experience effortless and enjoyable.”
